SEK raises funds for its lending activities through issuance of debt obligations in local capital markets. Borrowing is diversified by country, currency, source and maturity in order to provide flexibility and cost effectiveness to our customers.

SEK’s  AA+/Aa1 credit rating, being based on strong links to our owner the Kingdom of Sweden as well as conservative policies and excellent asset quality, has assisted in building significant and distinct name recognition amongst a global investor base.

The  Emerging Markets Team focuses on the following:

  • To raise local currencies in order to secure funds for our clients’ needs.

  • To access the private placement market as well as the public market when issuing debt.

  • Promote development of emerging capital markets by borrowing in local currencies.
