SEK Advisory Services - Project Finance leads Winning Consortium on Forest Investments in Ecuador

SEK Advisory Services – Project Finance has won a high profile assignment in Ecuador with the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) on the project “Improving the Business Climate for Forest-based Investments in Ecuador”.

This contract is in line with the strategy to be recognized by Multilateral Financing Institutions (MFI) for projects where SEK Advisory Services is involved in sustainable development for financial issues for energy and environmental issues.

We are joined by technical advisors Indufor Oy from Finland and SDS – Sustainable Development Services from Ecuador.

The services include the undertaking of IADB’s Process to Improve the Business Climate for Forest Investment (PROMECIF) for Ecuador by developing the following specific objectives:

1. Prepare a strategic action plan to improve the business climate for forest-based investments.
2. Identify and design institutional and legal reforms to be implemented in the short term.
3. Prepare a business plan to improve the performance, increase participation, and diversify and add value to the forest business clusters already exporting from Ecuador.

The 12-month project started in November 2007.
