SEK advisor in Lithuanian project; now creating new job opportunities in Sweden

During 2000, SEK Advisory Services served as an advisor, together with Swedpower, for two projects in Lithuania. One of the projects pertained to an upgrade of the hydroelectric power plant in Kaunas, while the other involved environmental improvements at Lithuania's largest thermal power plant in Elektrine (LPP).

These projects are now resulting in new job opportunities in Sweden. The engineering company Alstom in Sweden has now received two major contracts pertaining to the delivery of equipment for both of these projects in Lithuania. The contract pertaining to the LPP is described as a breakthrough order for the company's new FLOWPAC technology, which will substantially reduce emissions of sulfur in Lithuania and will gradually also have a favorable environmental impact in Sweden. The LPP contract is worth nearly SEK 2 billion and is expected to result in 100 annual job opportunities in Sweden.
