SEK biggest foreign issuer in the USMTN market according to mtn-i

In a recent ranking by the web-based financial information services agency mtn-i, SEK is the biggest foreign issuer of USMTN in the US market so far this year.  Banks issuing their own products in their own networks were not included in this ranking.

Only two domestic issuers have issued more than SEK, Freddie Mac and Federal Home Loan Bank.

SEK has increased volumes in the US market considerably compared to last year.
In a report distributed on May 20, 2008, referring to SEK and Eksportfinans, mtn-i wrote:

“The borrowers have benefited this year from increased investor appetite among US accounts - both institutional and retail - for European credit risk and a broadening in the product and asset classes in which they issue.”
