Their Royal Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia are paying a state visit to Austria on November 20-22. With them to Vienna is a delegation of leading representatives of the Swedish business world. Representing SEK will be CEO Peter Yngwe.
Michael Treschow will lead the delegation of 20 Swedish business executives representing a variety of sectors. The companies represented will include some that are well-established in the country and others that are looking to establish on the market. Deputy Prime Minister Maud Olofsson will also take part in the State Visit.
Austria has the third strongest purchasing power in the EU, a population as large as Sweden’s on a fifth of the surface area and an industrial structure similar to the Swedish. Within driving distance from Vienna are the rapidly growing markets of former Yugoslavia offering high and stable growth. Through its historical, cultural and geographical ties, Austria has become European champion in utilising the new explosive business potential in the Balkan and eastern Europe, which has contributed to the country re-establishing itself among the richest countries in Europe. Sweden, Swedes and Swedish products and solutions are highly reputed in Austria.
