SEK signs agreement on financing for small and medium exporting enterprises

SEK has entered into a cooperation agreement with North Star Europe in Luxembourg to jointly offer customer financing for small and medium sized Swedish enterprises. The agreement is further supported by guarantees from EKN (The Swedish Export Credits Guarantee Board).

The agreement between SEK and North Star enables Swedish small and medium sized enterprises to attach a financing solution when selling their products. The highest amount to be financed is Skr 50 mn over a maximum tenor of five years. Any financing offer is subject to credit approval.

North Star has considerable experience in providing financial solutions to small and medium sized enterprises and offer their services to many of the markets that are important for the Swedish export industry.

- This adds a significant competitive advantage for Swedish exporting companies and supplements Swedish commercial banks' Export Finance teams. The commercial banks can typically offer this type of financing for larger exporters but not always to small and medium sized companies. When the commercial banks are unable to provide financial solutions, we are now able to step in, says Kerstin Gedung, Head of Structured Finance at SEK.
