Whistleblowing service

if you suspect behavior that may involve or lead to a violation of the law, a breach, or a suspected breach of SEK’s Code of Conduct, you can report it. Our SpeakUp tool is managed by a third party, and all reports are handled confidentially. You may also remain anonymous if you wish.

Questions and answers about the whistleblowing service

How do I submit a report? Can I remain anonymous? Here we address the most common questions about SEK’s whistleblowing system.

How do I submit a report?

You submit a report through our whistleblowing tool, SpeakUp, which is managed by an independent third party.

Within the tool, you can describe the behaviour or incident you wish to report. You may choose to provide your contact details or remain anonymous.

If you wish to follow the progress of your case and respond to any follow-up questions, you must note the report number that appears once your submission has been sent. You must also remember—or otherwise securely retain—the password you create when logging in.

Can I remain anonymous when submitting a report?

Yes, you may choose to remain anonymous when submitting a report. Our whistleblowing system, SpeakUp, is managed by an independent third party, and all reports are handled confidentially.

What happens after I have submitted my notification?

The SpeakUp system sends a notification of the new case to SEK’s Head of Legal and the Head of Compliance. Receipt of the report is confirmed.

An initial assessment is conducted to determine whether the matter is appropriate to handle within the system. If not, you will receive a message indicating where you should instead direct your report.

If the notification concerns a suspected criminal offence, a violation or suspected violation of SEK’s Code of Conduct, the matter will be investigated further. Depending on the nature of the case, the investigation may in some instances be carried out together with managers from, for example, HR, Sustainability, Legal, or Security. SEK’s CEO is also informed of incoming cases. We always strive to provide feedback to the reporter, but there are situations in which this is unfortunately not possible.

What types of matters can I report through the whistleblowing system?

The whistleblowing system is intended for reporting suspected behaviours that may constitute or lead to legal violations, breaches, or suspected breaches of SEK’s Code of Conduct. This may include, for example, irregularities, corruption, bribery, fraud, conflicts of interest, or other serious misconduct within the organisation.

Why does SEK have a whistleblowing system?

SEK has established a whistleblowing system to identify and address suspected irregularities, legal violations, or breaches of SEK’s Code of Conduct at an early stage. The system enables employees and others to report suspected misconduct in a secure and confidential manner.

Where can I find SEK's Code of Conduct?
