Swedish Export Credit Corporation recruits new Chief Credit Officer

Swedish Export Credit Corporation (SEK) has appointed Mattias Hasselbo as its new Chief Credit Officer. He joins from Handelsbanken, where he brings extensive experience from various roles. Mattias Hasselbo will assume his position at SEK in early January 2025.

Mattias Hasselbo holds a degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics. He has substantial experience as Chief Credit Officer, both from Handelsbanken International and, since 2020, at Handelsbanken Sweden. Prior to that, he built up extensive experience in corporate advisory within the banking sector.

“I am very pleased to welcome Mattias to SEK. To continue strengthening the Swedish export industry and supporting the transition of companies, our credit department is key. Mattias’ broad experience is valuable to SEK’s development and to continue to deliver on our mission,” says Magnus Montan, CEO of SEK.

SEK is a state-owned, commercially driven company with a mission to strengthen Swedish exports by financing Swedish exporters, their subcontractors and foreign buyers of Swedish exports. SEK also finances sustainable transition, both in Sweden and globally.

Mattias Hasselbo will lead SEK’s credit department, be part of SEK’s Executive Management, and report directly to the CEO. He will assume his position in early January 2025. SEK’s current Chief Credit Officer, Teresa Hamilton Burman, will retire in 2025 after a handover period with Mattias.
